Mr. Hubert Fuchs, the State Secretary of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance, visited the National Bank of Moldova (NBM).

The Austrian official discussed with the NBM’s Governor, Sergiu Cioclea, and the Deputy Governor, Cristina Harea, the banking sector reforms, the economic situation in the Republic of Moldova, the progress registered in the implementation of the IMF’s program, and the opportunities of investment in the Moldovan commercial banks. The parties agreed to maintain a continuous dialogue between the institutions and to broaden their cooperation in the programs implemented by Austria in the region.

The National Bank of Moldova, along with other Moldovan institutions, participates in the "Centre of Excellence in Finance " project, which is being implemented with the financial support of the Austrian Development Agency in Moldova together with other partners.
