The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has decided to distribute the commemorative coin with the face value of 10 lei, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the introduction of the Moldovan leu, through its cash desk situated on 1 Grigore Vieru Avenue, Chișinău. The decision was taken following the multiple demands of the citizens.
The coin can be obtained in exchange of banknotes or coins covering the face value of 10 lei, on 28 December 2018, as well as in the period of 2-4 January 2019, from 10:00am to 12:00am.
In total, 5 thousand coins will be distributed through the NBM cash desk and a person can receive two units at the most. As a rule, the banknotes and the coins are introduced into circulation through licensed banks, based on their requests.
The commemorative coin with the face value of 10 lei is accepted as means of payment on the territory of the Republic of Moldova and circulate simultaneously with the banknotes and metallic coins with the face value of 10 lei.
The coin was introduced on 29 November 2018 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the national currency of the Republic of Moldova.
