The series " Alley of Classics” from "Stefan cel Mare " Public Garden of Chisinau municipality was launched in 2010 with the coin "Grigore Vieru" dedicated to the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the poet. The series will be completed with coins dedicated to writers of Romanian literature, the busts of which are placed on the Alley of Classics from Chisinau. This sculptural complex was inaugurated in 1958 and consisted of 12 busts, focusing on the central radius of the park. After 1989, the Classics Alley is completed with other works, with their composition changed and, which now takes place in the form of arrow on both sides of the axis. At the moment, there are located 27 sculptures. |

The coins issued in "The sanctuaries" series represent the religious architecture in the Republic of Moldova with historical and cultural value. The series was initiated with the coin "Annunciation Church from Chisinau city - 200 years old building”. The sanctuary was built in the style of traditional medieval Moldavian architecture. Buildings of worship from the territory of the Republic of Moldova have a large variety - cloisters, monasteries, monastic complexes, etc. Urban churches are mostly built of stone or brick, with belfry, while those in villages - in small numbers, although in the XVIII th cen. they were in majority, are of wood, covered with twigs or coated with planks. |

Initiated by the coin "100 years of Moldovan football”, the series "Sports" is dedicated to events and personalities that marked the Moldovan sport. Down from the prehistoric times there are known activities and ceremonies involving physical competitiveness of people. The winners of the Games at Olympia became heroes, adulated by the crowd. In honour of athletes were held popular celebrations, odes were dedicated and statues hewed. There were issued as well coins which usually commemorated equestrian victories. The coins issued by the NBM in the "Sports" series will highlight important sports moments related to the Republic of Moldova and our champions. |

The coins issued in this series are dedicated to monuments of Moldova that have a great national and international value – works of sculpture and architecture, or natural monuments of scientific or aesthetic significance, belonging to natural heritage of Moldova. The series was initiated in 2008 with “The Oak Tree of Stefan cel Mare”. The oak tree is the most longevous arbor of Moldova (it has over 600 years) and is near the church Cobalnea, Soldanesti. The tree is included in the Register of protected monuments. The series was completed with the coin “Geodezic Arch Struve” (2009), “Cultural and natural reservation “Old Orhei”” (2010) and “Soroca Fortress” (2012). |

The series "Holidays, culture, traditions of Moldova" marks national occupations and customs preserved and transmitted continuously through the history by the natives. The series was launched by the National Bank in 2007 with "Popular tradition – pottery” - an ancient craft which positions Romanian traditional pottery among the finest in Europe. The series „Holydays, culture, traditions of Moldova” also includes coins such as “Cooperage” (2008), “Popular tradition - weaving” (2009), “Traditional Musical Instruments” (2010), “Carol” (2011), “Sanzienele” (2012) and “Miorita - 160 years since the publication of the ballad” (2012). |

The series was launched in 2000 and included 20 silver coins representing the sanctuaries of Moldova. The coins emphasize the importance that the monasteries had over the centuries, that of true spiritual, cultural and education centres in the process offorming and maintaining both, religion and national values. In 2012, the series will be completed with the coin “Monastery of Butuceni”. |
