During the period 04-08 December 2023, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) held/hosted “Career Week at the NBM” for the first time. These events were organised for the first time in educational institutions across the country. The events were dedicated to both professional in the financial-banking field and young people focused on professional development, especially students and Master's students at economic and financial faculties.
More than 130 participants visited us or watched our live broadcasts on the first day of the week. They participated in a panel discussion with former NBM interns and attended thematic workshops with experts from the central bank, while getting acquainted with job positions and the employment process within the NBM.
Over the next three days of the week, teams of experts from the NBM visited universities across the country, interacting daily with students and Master's students and providing them with relevant information on the central bank's areas of activity such as: banking supervision; reporting and statistics; budget, finance, and accounting; information technology and online security; financial markets and financial stability. At the same time, the participants learned what steps they need to take to apply for an internship at the NBM. They also found out about the vacancies at the NBM and how to apply for the employment competitions within the institution.
The event ended with a unique action, in which 9 of the most studious Master’s students and students from the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Technical University of Moldova, State University of Moldova, Centre of Excellence in Economics and Finance and Iulia Hasdeu College from Cahul spent one day at the National Bank of Moldova. The 9 competition winners visited our bank, engaged in discussions with the Governor and other members of the NBM team, and gained a close understanding of the institution’s areas of activity.
Career Week at the NBM continued the series of similar events that are organised in collaboration with higher education institutions in the country.
