Starting with September 10, 2021, the National Bank of Moldova puts into circulation as a means of payment and for numismatic purposes a commemorative coin dedicated to the 100 years since the inauguration of the National Theatre in Chisinau (currently "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre) [1], as the first stable theatre of Romanian expression from the East of the Prut.
The building of the "Mihai Eminescu" National Theatre, built in the 30s of the 20th century, has the status of a monument of art, architecture and history of national significance, included, at the initiative of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, in the Register of Monuments of the Republic of Moldova protected by the state.
The silver coin has a face value of 100 lei and a mintage of 300 and will complete the series "Historical events".
The commemorative coin, packed in a transparent methacrylate capsule and a presentation box, is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, written in Romanian and English, signed by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.
Commemorative coins issued by the National Bank are sold through licensed banks in the Republic of Moldova.
