The development of the Moldovan government securities market was the subject of a recent meeting held at the National Bank of Moldova with the participation of representatives of the Ministry of Finance and the European Union technical assistance project "Project Preparation Facility".

Over 100 officials, external financial analysts, bankers, businessmen, development partners, independent experts etc., reunited on 24 September 2019 in Chisinau to talk about the development perspectives of the financial market in the Republic of Moldova.

On 24 September 2019, the National Bank of Moldova jointly with the CFA Society Romania will organize the high-level conference “Development of Financial Instruments in the Republic of Moldova”.

The single Central Securities Depository (CSD) changed the planned date for the settlement of transactions with securities that are conducted on a regulated market or MTF, starting with 1 September 2019.

The single Central Securities Depository (CSD) was launched today, in the framework of an official event following two years of intense efforts dedicated to its establishment.

The Single Central Depository of Securities (SCD) carried out the first settlements with securities for the operations concluded on stock exchange.

As of 1 May 2019, the Single Central Depository (SCD) will perform the settlement of corporate securities of joint stock companies. Meanwhile, the registry companies are obliged to submit to the SCD the registers of securities holders of banks and insurance companies.

The Central Securities Depository (CSD) began its operation on 31 July 2018. The new institution will be responsible for the registration, bookkeeping and settlement of securities issued by legal entities of the Republic of Moldova.

The meeting of establishing the Central Securities Depository (CSD) was held today, 29 March 2018. During the meeting, the decision to establish the CSD was adopted, the governing bodies were designated and the establishing acts were approved.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) approved at its meeting held on March 14, 2018 a set of action steps to be taken for the establishment of the Central Securities Depository (CSD).
