According to preliminary data, the gross external debt of the Republic of Moldova increased by 12,4% during the nine months of 2025 and totaled 11 600,42 million as of 09/30/2025, which is 58,9% as a ratio to GDP (+2,2 p.p. as compared to 12/31/2024).
The public external debt accounted for 42,0% of the total external debt and totalled US$ 4 867,71 million (+12,8% as compared to the end of the previous year). The private external debt amounted to US$ 6 732,71 million and increased by 12,1% as compared to 12/31/2024.
