IMF review to help strengthen NBM's transparency practices

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has launched, at its request, an International Monetary Fund (IMF) review to help strengthen its institutional transparency.

The review of the NBM's transparency practices will be based on the IMF’s Central Bank Transparency Code [1], which enables central banks to analyze their transparency practices, especially concerning management, policy implementation and performance of functions.

During the mission, the NBM Governor, Anca Dragu, met with the IMF team, assuring them of her full support for the smooth conduct of the evaluation.

The evaluation includes a review of the NBM's communication processes and how they contribute to institutional transparency, interaction with various institutions and relations with the public, including institutional policies.

"Transparency is one of the fundamental pillars of our work and an essential element in building trust. This review will help us to further strengthen our accountability and openness to the public, providing a clear picture of our progress and prospects," said NBM Governor, Anca Dragu.

The evaluation will focus on how the NBM promotes its work and how efficiently it aligns with international transparency standards. The results will be used to continuously improve the central bank's transparency processes.

Thus, through this review, the NBM aims to become a model of institutional transparency and accountability, ensuring open access to information and enhancing interaction with the public and the international community.
