The National Committee on Financial Stability, in extended composition, held its ordinary meeting on March 29th, 2024, in accordance with the calendar of ordinary meetings for the current year, agreed by the Committee on December 11th, 2023.
The meeting discussions focused on the risks in the banking sector, non-bank lending, and the insurance sectors as well as the actions taken or initiated by the supervisory authorities to mitigate these risks.
At the same time, during the meeting was discussed the implementation status of the Committee recommendation to the Government of the Republic of Moldova regarding the development of a back-to-back transaction mechanism for the insurance sector, similar to the one applied in the banking sector, approved in the meeting of March 29th, 2023. Thus, the Committee agreed on the submission of the proposals to amend the Law no. 121/2007 regarding the administration and denationalization of public property in this regard to the Ministry of Economic Development and Digitization, according to the areas of competence of the ministry.
The next ordinary meeting of the National Committee on Financial Stability is scheduled to take place in June 2024.
