NBM Governor, Anca Dragu, participates in the most important economic event in Central and Eastern Europe

 

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, participates in the 33rd edition of the Economic Forum "Time of New Leaders - Shaping the Future Together", held in Karpacz, Poland.

The event brings together over 6 000 participants from around the world, influential leaders in regional and global decision-making. The agenda includes 500 debates, six plenary sessions, workshops, presentations and numerous discussions on the major challenges shaping the present and future of Central and Eastern Europe.

The key topics of the event include the impact of the war in Ukraine on the global security architecture, topics in economics, finance, security, green energy, development of artificial intelligence etc.

In her speech, Governor Anca Dragu highlighted the progress made by the Republic of Moldova in reforming the financial system and establishing favorable economic conditions for investors. "Anyone who does not invest in Moldova today will regret it in five to ten years," Anca Dragu reiterated.

"The Republic of Moldova today offers investment opportunities, especially in sectors such as IT, agriculture, and digitalization, having all the attributes to become a real "wonder-child of the region", added the NBM Governor. Anca Dragu also emphasized the banking reforms aligned with European best practices, noting that "the measures adopted by the NBM have brought inflation back to the target corridor, thus protecting the economy and citizens.

NBM Governor underlined that Moldova is currently taking decisive steps on the path of European integration. "By attending this international event, the National Bank of Moldova reaffirms its commitment to actively contribute to the regional and global dialog on financial stability and sustainable economic development", says the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.

Over the last three decades, the Karpacz Economic Forum has become the largest and most important conference in Central and Eastern Europe, bringing together influential economic, political, and social leaders from more than 60 countries.
