NBM Governor Anca Dragu at the relaunch of the Moldovan-Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Stability, digitalisation, and openness to innovation

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM), Anca Dragu, participated today in the relaunch event of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Republic of Moldova – Romania, organised in Chișinău. The event marks an important step towards strengthening economic and trade relations between the two countries and ensuring access for Moldovan companies to foreign markets.

In her speech, Ms. Anca Dragu emphasised the importance of bilateral cooperation and a stable financial environment in attracting investment and developing the economy. "Those who do not invest in Moldova today will regret it in 5–10 years. I made this statement before, and I am even more convinced of it today. The facts confirm it. In recent years, Moldova has made significant strides towards economic stability, deep reforms, and integration into the European economic area," said the Governor of the NBM.

Ms. Anca Dragu also highlighted the progress made in modernising the financial infrastructure, mentioning the launch of the P2G functionality—instant payments to public services through the MIA system, created by the NBM—and the preparation for technical integration into the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA). “Through stability, digitalisation, and openness to innovation, we can create an environment where capital flows with confidence, entrepreneurs have access to financing, and consumers benefit from modern and secure services, both within Moldova and beyond its borders,” added the NBM Governor.

The meeting was attended by ambassadors, ministers, representatives of central and local authorities, leaders from the banking and business sectors, as well as relevant financial institutions.

The event agenda included the presentation of the first economic study dedicated to factories in Bessarabia, the launch of a dialogue platform to support local producers, and the presentation of the Chamber's new visual identity and strategy for the 2025–2026 period.

The relaunch of the Bilateral Chamber of Commerce and Industry Republic of Moldova – Romania marks a strategic stage in the consolidation of economic and trade relations between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, with an emphasis on supporting the internationalisation of Moldovan companies, attracting investment, and promoting public-private dialogue on matters of common interest.
