The new Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Octavian Armașu [1], was presented to the NBM team by the Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu.
The legislative chief used the opportunity to thank to Mr. Sergiu Cioclea, who completed his mandate as Governor of the central bank on 29 November 2018: „You wrote an important page in the history of the National Bank of Moldova”. Andrian Candu is convinced that „the baton will be taken over by the new Governor with dignity. Mr. Armașu, in his capacity as Minister of Finance, delivered a very good experience and excellent management and professional skills”, underlined Andrian Candu.
In his turn, the new NBM Governor, Octavian Armașu, is impressed by the work performed by the central bank’s employees in the recent years. „People highly appreciate what you have done, the entire NBM team, along with Mr. Cioclea, in these years. Indeed, the banking system changed radically. We have a more stable, transparent and efficient system. We will continue the reforms and will respond to other challenges in the interest of citizens and society”, said the new Governor of the NBM.
Octavian Armașu holds the position of Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) since 30 November 2018.
The NBM Governor was appointed for a term of seven years.
