The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), Anca Dragu, participated on Thursday, 6 June 2024, together with the Minister of Finance, Petru Rotaru, and the State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Ion Gumene, in the Frontier Markets Fixed Income Conference, dedicated to emerging countries, which took place in London, United Kingdom.
The conference brought together leading financial professionals and specialists, investors, and business leaders to explore market trends from the perspective of emerging market opportunities and challenges.
During the discussions with investors, the NBM Governor referred to the macroeconomic context favourable to sustainable economic growth and boosting investment activity. Anca Dragu also described the initiatives to develop the capital market and measures to stimulate financial intermediation.
An important topic addressed by the NBM Governor was the actions taken by the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession negotiation process.
The event provided participants with valuable information on economic and financial analysis of emerging markets, investment strategies in bonds and other fixed income instruments, risk assessment and management and financial innovations, as well as case studies from investors' experiences.
The conference also included presentations by international experts and Q&A sessions for all participants: fund managers, financial analysts, bankers, consultants, and other professionals interested in emerging markets and investment.
