In the period 4-8 November 2019, the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) and the Analytical Independent Centre „Expert-Grup” will organize the “Road of money” event for secondary and high school pupils, and for students, within the financial education project „Learn! Give sense to money”. The event will be jointly organized with the 11 licensed banks in the Republic of Moldova on the occasion of the International Savings Day, celebrated annually on the 31st October.
The visit will start in the exhibition hall of the NBM, where the guests will learn the history of the Moldovan leu. Next, they will listen to a presentation about the security features of Moldovan lei banknotes and afterwards they will visit one of the licensed banks to see how it operates.
The purpose of the event is to inform the public about the role and duties of a financial-banking institution, and to explain the main principles of economy.
The visits will be organized in the aforementioned period, in the second half of the day, in order to avoid disrupting the learning process. The access will be assured on the base of lists prepared in advance. Children must be accompanied by an adult, who will be in charge with the safety of minors during the visit. The requests will be sent by 25 October 2019, 4pm, to the email: educatie.financiara@bnm.md or via the Facebook page of the NBM https://www.facebook.com/BNMoficial/, or the Facebook page of the financial education project “Learn! Give sense to money” https://www.facebook.com/dasensbanilor/.
In March 2019, the National Bank and Expert-Group launched the project “Learn! Give sense to money” with the purpose to improve the level of understanding of the main concepts and financial-banking products among students, so they can make sound decisions in managing their own incomes.
