The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, held today in Calarasi a public lecture on the role and objectives of the central bank, before a group of high school pupils from the district, and their teachers.
The event took place in an interactive atmosphere, the NBM Governor having all the openness to answer pupils' and teachers' questions on various financial-banking subjects.
“Any financial education concept or topic complements consumers' knowledge, so that it is accessible to them when they need to make a personal financial decision. Children and young people are the consumers of today and tomorrow, with future responsibilities for their well-being and that of their families, therefore, financial education is an important priority that will help them in the long run,” said Anca Dragu.
The head of the central bank told young people about the importance of the monetary policy decisions of the National Bank to support the development of the economy, along with the decisions of other authorities, and also the tools held by the NBM in tempering inflation. She also spoke about the harmonisation of banking sector regulation and supervision with the best practices of the European Union, innovations and many other aspects related to the NBM activities.
The public lecture took place in the framework of the National Campaign “Financial Education for All”, carried out by the NBM in partnership with the Expert-Grup Independent Think-Tank, with the support of the USAID project “Moldova Institutional and Structural Reforms Activity” (MISRA).

Thus, after the public lecture, the NBM Governor visited the museum. “An oasis of beauty, history, knowledge...”, wrote Anca Dragu in the album that collects the impressions of the visitors.
