Message of the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, on the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova

Dear fellow citizens and friends of the Republic of Moldova,

Today we mark a very important chapter in our history - the Independence Day of the Republic of Moldova!

Thirty-three years ago, Moldovan citizens had the courage and dignity to defend their freedom in order to build a state that would go its own way.

These years of independence have shown that the true strength of a nation comes from the unity, dignity and trust of its citizens.

The path towards the European Union, on which Moldova is moving with determination, is a commitment to shared values: peace, democracy and well-being. In this journey, the financial sector plays a vital role in developing the economy. Through sound governance, transparency and innovation we have created the financial infrastructure necessary to realize Moldova's European aspirations.

The National Bank reaffirms its commitment to support the country's financial stability through responsible policies and continuous adaptation to economic challenges.

The NBM actively contributes to building a European future for Moldova, ensuring confidence in the national currency and supporting economic growth objectives. The role of the central bank is essential in ensuring the country's financial stability - the basis for sustainable independence and a successful European path.

With confidence in ourselves and in Moldova's European future, we will continue to work to provide stability and prosperity for generations to come.

Happy Birthday, Republic of Moldova!
