Launch event of the project "FinanciarELE - female leadership community

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) will launch on 19 March 2025, as part of Global Money Week, the project "FinanciarELE – Women’s leadership community", an initiative aimed at supporting and developing the financial and leadership skills of women in the Republic of Moldova.

This platform aims to create an educational and professional framework, providing access to mentorship, training and development opportunities for young women aspiring to a career in the financial and banking sector.

"Financial education and the development of female leadership are fundamental to building an equitable and prosperous society. Through this project, we aim to support young women, in particular, in developing their financial skills and pursuing careers in the economic sector. Leadership has no gender - it has vision, courage, and education", emphasizes NBM Governor Anca Dragu, who initiated the project.

Project Opportunities

The FinanciarELE project is structured to meet the specific needs of women interested in financial education and leadership. Participants will have access to training and mentorship workshops led by experts from the banking and financial sectors, as well as interactive sessions with top female leaders from international organizations and institutions. The project will also facilitate professional networking, providing career opportunities and connections with industry specialists. Additionally, young women aspiring to a career in the financial sector will benefit from career guidance and mentorship, helping them to develop their skills and make informed decisions for their future.

Target Audience of the Project

The FinanciarELE project is aimed at all women who aspire to develop their financial and leadership skills, providing them with learning, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The initiative targets:

  • High school and university students who want to build a career in the financial sector and acquire essential skills for the future;
  • Employed women looking to improve their financial skills and advance professionally in a dynamic and competitive environment;
  • Women entrepreneurs and those in career transition, who are interested in effectively managing financial resources, growing their own businesses, and strengthening their economic independence.

The official launch session of the project will be hosted by the Governor of the NBM, Anca Dragu, alongside Svetlana Cerović, Head of the IMF Representation in Moldova, and Magdalena Mueller-Uri, Head of the Cooperation Section of the European Union Delegation to Moldova. The event will begin at 14.00 and will take place at GLIA Hub, within the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova.

"FinanciarELE - Women‘s leadership community" is a project dedicated to creating an empowering environment for the development of women's financial and leadership skills. It promotes gender equality in the financial sector and encourages women's active participation in the economy through education, mentorship, and professional support.
