The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms. Anca Dragu, attended the "Together We Protect Romania" Excellence Gala, organised by the MediaUno Press Group and the MediaUno Association in partnership with the National Institute of Statistics and the Department of Sustainable Development, which took place at the National Museum of Art of Romania, a venue symbolically associated with continuity, stability, and the resilience of society.
“Development and modernisation of a country begin with individuals who choose to get involved, build, and offer real solutions. Public recognition of excellence is also a form of encouragement for responsibility, solidarity, and the values that unite us beyond borders,” stated the NBM Governor.
During the gala, Ms. Anca Dragu presented three excellence awards to distinguished individuals whose professional activities contribute to strengthening social balance, promoting public responsibility, and supporting European values.
One of the awards was given to the Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Romania, Mr. Cosmin Marinescu, for his contribution to fostering responsible economic dialogue and promoting a vision of sustainable development aligned with European values. The award also recognised his initiation and coordination of the Economic@BNR platform—a framework for information and debate aimed at both the general public and decision-makers in the field of economic policies. The platform facilitates a clearer understanding of the progress, risks, vulnerabilities, and challenges facing Romania’s economy, within the broader context of domestic and international policies.
“In a regional context marked by multiple economic and social challenges, initiatives that support informed analysis, responsible decision-making, and policy coherence are benchmarks for the entire region,” emphasised Ms. Anca Dragu.
Another award was presented to Ms. Alina Epure, Doctor of Medicine, in recognition of her efforts to promote health and education among children and adolescents through prevention and information programmes implemented both in Romania and the Republic of Moldova.
“Her initiatives, carried out directly in communities and educational institutions, contribute to the formation of more informed generations, who are more responsible for their own health," said the NBM Governor.
Additionally, the NBM Governor awarded an excellence award to Ms. Claudia Griech, the General Director of E.ON Gaz Romania, a company serving approximately three million customers, in recognition of her contribution to the development of a modern energy sector, focused on people, sustainable resources, and strong institutions, within an economic and social context that is constantly evolving.
The “Together We Protect Romania” Excellence Gala annually highlights personalities and projects that stand out through professionalism, involvement, and a sense of responsibility, reaffirming the role of collaboration and individual contribution in maintaining social balance during a period marked by profound transformations.
“A functional energy sector is built through people, responsible decisions, and the ability to respond to the real needs of society. Contributions that focus on stability, consumer relations, and adapting to economic and technological changes are essential for long-term development,” declared the NBM Governor.
At the 2025 edition of the Excellence Gala, the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Ms. Anca Dragu, was honoured with the "Excellence Award for shaping the European trajectory of the National Bank of Moldova," in recognition of the strategic direction and efforts to align the institution with European standards.
