The National Bank of Moldova and the Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe (BSCEE)

The Group of Banking Supervisors from Central and Eastern Europe is a regional organization without legal personality, which promotes cooperation between banking supervisory institutions of the countries from Central and Eastern Europe.

The National Bank of Moldova has become a member of the BSCEE since June 1996 following the signing of the Agreement on Rules of organization and management of the Group BSCEE (with subsequent amendments).

The status of BSCEE Group member allows the National Bank of Moldova to exchange expertise among the group members, to strengthen the NBM staff capacity, to develop new standards, as well as to benefit from the methodological assistance in the field of the prudential regulation of the banks. The collaboration within the BSCEE leads to the increase of the competitiveness of the domestic banking sector, strengthening the ability to attract investments, including foreign, that ultimately results in the enhancing of the banks' ability to meet the needs in banking services of different economic sectors.
