2025

By Decision No.250 of November 6, 2025 of the NBM Executive Board, the countercyclical capital buffer rate for credit exposures located in the Republic of Moldova is increased by 1 percentage point.

By Decision No. 168 of July 24, 2025 of the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), the countercyclical capital buffer rate for credit exposures located in the Republic of Moldova is set at 0.5% of the of the risk exposure amount.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has established, according to the actual Methodology, the banks that are Other Systemically Important Institutions (O-SII) from the Republic of Moldova.

The Decision of the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) no.76 of 28.03.2025 maintains the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures in the Republic of Moldova at 0% of the risk exposure amount.

The Decision of the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) no.326 of 19.12.2024 maintains the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures in the Republic of Moldova at 0% of the risk exposure amount.

At the meeting of 26.10.2023, the Executive Committee of the NBM decided to revoke the measure to increase the systemic risk buffer for banks' exposures to credit risk related to resident individuals, with the exception of individuals practicing entrepreneurial activity, introduced in May 2022.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) set the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures situated in the Republic of Moldova, based on the CCyB guide calculated as of the 3rd quarter of 2022.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has decided to maintain the systemic risk buffer rate, on an individual basis, for all banks, at the level of 1% of the total amount of the risk exposures located in the Republic of Moldova.

Pursuant to Law No 202 of 6 October 2017 on the activity of banks, the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) has established, according to the actual Methodology, the O-SII buffer rates.

The Decision of the Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) no.48 of 22.02.2024 maintains the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures in the Republic of Moldova at 0% of the risk exposure amount.

2022

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova set the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures situated in the Republic of Moldova, based on the CCyB guide calculated as of the 4th quarter of 2021.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), by its Decision No 98 of 12.05.2022, decided to increase by 2 percentage points the systemic risk buffer rate for banks' exposures to credit risk related to resident individuals, except for individuals performing entrepreneurial activity.

The Executive Board of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) set the rate of the countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) applied to credit exposures situated in the Republic of Moldova, based on the CCyB guide calculated as of the 3rd quarter of 2021.
