National Bank and the members of its decision-making bodies shall be independent in exercising the tasks conferred upon them by law, and shall neither seek nor take instructions from public authorities or from any other authority.
In order to ensure and maintain price stability over the medium term, the National Bank’s aim will be to keep inflation (measured by Consumer Price Index) at the level of 5.0 percent annually with a possible deviation of ± 1.5 percentage points, considered to be optimal for growth and development of Moldova's economy over the medium-term.

The National Bank of Moldova attends America Days events from 16 to 25 September, informing the public about the projects carried out by the NBM with the support of the USAID "Transparency of the Financial Sector in Moldova" (FSTA) Project.
The America Days series of events, organized by the Embassy of the United States in Chisinau, to celebrate 30 years of partnership between the USA and the Republic of Moldova, will begin on 16 September 2022, starting at 3:00 p.m., as follows: Chisinau – 16 September, Căușeni – 17 September, Cahul – 18 September, Edineț – 23 September, Balti – 24 September, Rezina – 25 September.
During the event in Chisinau, organized on Eugen Doga Pedestrian Street, the NBM will present a collection of commemorative and jubilee coins, as well as topics on financial education. At the same time, the central bank will explain the impact of the IT AML Solution, implemented with the support of the USAID FSTA Project.
At the same time, each event day, starting at 5:30 p.m., visitors will be able to participate in a financial education quiz and the winners will be awarded with mint sets.
