The National Bank of Moldova handed over the rotating chairmanship of the Centre of Excellence in Finance to another member of this organization

The National Bank of Moldova hosted the annual meeting of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (Ljubljana, Slovenia), known worldwide due to its support in implementing reforms in the public finance and financial-banking sectors in South East Europe through training activities.

The event brought together high-level representatives from central banks and ministries of finance from member-countries: Albania, Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania and Slovenia.

The meeting was organized on the occasion of handing over the Republic of Moldova's chairmanship of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF) to another member of this international organization – Montenegro, after chairing the respective powers for the past year. The First Deputy Governor, Vladimir Munteanu, who chaired the CEF Governing Board for the past year, hosted the meeting.

The guests also held a round table discussion at the event, which was an important platform not only for exchanging ideas but also for setting up partnerships at both national and regional level.

The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Octavian Armașu, pointed out: “We appreciate the expertise and outreach of the CEF for cooperation and mutual sharing of knowledge aimed towards central banks. This cooperation is highly productive and successful.”

In turn, the CEF director, Jana Repanšek, said: “Our learning program has high reputation among participants from South East Europe and elsewhere. We will together with partner institutions continue to provide top-level expertise in the field of public finance management and central banking”.

The National Bank and the Ministry of Finance, both institutions having one vote in this decision-making body, represent the Republic of Moldova in the CEF Governing Board.
