The Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Anca Dragu, together with the institution's team, received Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu today on an official visit.
The visit was a moment of profound significance, marking the continuity and strength of the historical and cultural ties between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, as well as the ongoing support offered by the Royal House in the European path of our country.
"This visit reaffirms a fundamental truth: the ties between Romania and the Republic of Moldova are not only about the past, but also about a shared future. A future in which we collaborate, grow, and move forward together. A future in which European values become a reality for all our citizens", underlined Ms. Anca Dragu.
In her message, the Governor of the NBM also emphasized the institution's commitment to the modernization process and European integration.
On behalf of the Royal House, His Royal Highness Prince Radu delivered a message of encouragement and support, stating: "We appreciate your loyalty to society, to the nation, the courage and dignity with which Moldovan society presents itself to Europe and the whole world. One of the reasons why Moldova is so admired today is that it asserts itself with great courage, responsibility and dignity in all circumstances, within the European and transatlantic environment."
During the visit, the distinguished guests witnessed the minting of a commemorative coin, created using a historic press from the 16th century, offered to the National Bank by the State Mint of Romania - a symbol of respect for monetary traditions and a commitment to the European future of the Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, the Governor of the NBM presented the royal delegation with the commemorative coin " Mărțișorul", as an expression of friendship and renewal.
Also, during this visit, the National Bank of Moldova inaugurated its first Book of Honor, in which Her Majesty Margareta, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and His Royal Highness Prince Radu wrote the following message: With hope and admiration, best wishes and success in the very important mission of your institution!"
This is the second visit of Her Majesty Margareta and His Royal Highness Prince Radu to the National Bank of Moldova since its establishment on 4 June 1991.
