The National Bank of Moldova, alongside the academic and cultural community, at the World Congress of Eminescologists

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) was present at the opening of the 14th edition of the World Congress of Eminescologists, held at the “Mihai Eminescu” International Academic Center in Chișinău, under the theme “The Representation of Eminescu in Art.”

Present at the opening of the event with a speech, NBM Deputy Governor Constantin Schendra emphasized the importance of honouring culture and the personalities who have shaped national identity, highlighting the role of institutions in supporting and promoting cultural heritage.

Participation in the World Congress of Eminescologists is an opportunity to reaffirm the NBM's respect for cultural heritage and the personalities who have enriched national spirituality and culture. Mihai Eminescu remains a benchmark of profound thought and dignity, a symbol of the Romanian spirit, inspiring entire generations to assume their role as responsible and engaged citizens," stated the NBM Deputy Governor.

The forum brought together academics, scholars, museum curators, and representatives of cultural institutions from the Republic of Moldova and Romania, under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, the Romanian Academy, and institutional partners.

At the World Congress of Eminescologists, two commemorative coins, titled "Mihai Eminescu – 175 years since his birth" were presented. They were recently issued by the National Bank of Moldova on the occasion of Romanian Language Day and in the context of the Eminescu Year. The coins, one made of gold and the other of silver, complete the "Alley of Classics" series from the "Stephen the Great and Holy" Public Garden in Chișinău.
