A unique coin exhibition will be presented at the online event dedicated to the Moldovan leu

The National Bank of Moldova (NBM) organizes today, 27 November 2020, an online event on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the introduction of the national currency - the Moldovan leu.

The event will start at 2 p.m. through the ZOOM platform and is open to all those interested in finding out about money: the history and security elements of the national currency, its role in the economy, and about cashless payments in daily life.

In addition, the commemorative and jubilee coins to be issued this year will be presented, as well as a museum exhibition of coins in virtual format from the collection of the National Museum of History, which will restore the monetary circulation on the territory of the Republic of Moldova starting with the 4th century.

In the end of the event, the participants will take part in the thematic quiz: "What do we know about the Moldovan leu" and the first five winners will be awarded with sets of coins.

Those interested can register at the following Link .

After the event, the participants will receive, upon request, a certificate of participation signed by the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova.

The Moldovan leu was introduced into circulation on 29 November 1993.
