First Deputy Governor of the NBM, Vladimir Munteanu: "The financial and banking activity, in today's world of globalization and digitalization, is in itself a continuous research, more and more dynamic and requested"

The First Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM), Vladimir Munteanu, participated in a solemnity organized by the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova on the occasion of awarding prizes and diplomas for scientific research in the field of currency and credit for 2020.

It is a tradition initiated last year, when Vladimir Munteanu, philanthropist and founder of this award, expressed his support to young researchers interested in this field and in the scientific contribution to its development.

Thus, the official of the National Bank donated to the Academy of Economic Studies a set of silver commemorative and jubilee coins "Ivan Mocan - 100 years since his birth", which are part of the "Science and Innovation" series. These coins dedicated to the illustrious pedagogue and researcher of the Academy of Economic Studies, who had also taught the NBM First Deputy Governor, are destined to be offered for a decade, year after year, to the authors of the best research papers from the Finance faculty. The winners are selected by a special committee. Respectively, two coins were handed out at the 2020 awards and diplomas gala.

"The financial and banking activity, in today's world of globalization and digitalization, is in itself a continuous research, more and more dynamic and requested", mentioned Vladimir Munteanu. "Scientific research is an element that catalyzes knowledge and the extra effort needed to advance in the world of science. I am very pleased that today, despite the pandemic situation, we can continue, even online, the tradition of recognizing and promoting scientific research in the field of currency and credit,"said the First Deputy Governor of the central bank.

Vladimir Munteanu also reiterated the openness of the National Bank of Moldova to be with Academy of Economic Studies in carrying out the complex and responsible training process of the studious youth, mentioning the importance of the partnership agreement signed between both institutions."It is a beautiful and fruitful collaboration relationship, the NBM official emphasized, we have many common goals and perspectives to combine our efforts."

The NBM has recently completed the "Science and Innovation" series with another silver commemorative and jubilee coin. It is dedicated to the founder and first rector of the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova, Paul Bran.
